Innovations in minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy platforms are contributing to a promising procedural field called Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES). Dr. Nathaniel Soper, professor and chair of surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform NOTES procedures, discusses some of the early findings on NOTES procedures.
